Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Sunday hundreds of bikers from South Carolina rode down Garners Ferry Road to help those who are spending Christmas in the Dorn VA Medical Center.
"This may be the only Christmas they get so we got to be there for them," said Tom Yeoman.
The cold rainy weather didn't stop Hundreds of bikers from honoring the men and women who've served our country.
"It makes me feel good; you can't forget those folks because they gave everything."
This is Tom Yeoman's second year participating in the Vet Ride. Every year bikers from all over the state come together and bring Christmas gifts to veterans that are spending their holiday in the Dorn VA Medical Center.
"We have to make sure that they know they are not forgotten, even when they are older, even if they can't get around as much they have to know that they are not forgotten by us."
"They made us a free country so I want to pay them back as much as I can," said Wiley Jackson.
Jackson has participated in the ride every year. He says even though he did not serve in the military it makes him feel good to support vets in need.
"My uncle was a vet and a good friend of mine and he went to the VA hospital and got help and it makes me feel good to give back something, you know some of what I've got."
