Lexington County, SC (WLTX) - Lexington County deputies have arrested three suspects they say vandalized a mausoleum at a local cemetery.

Officers charged 18-year-old Mason David Farris, 22-year-old William Austin Saylors, and 18-year-old Jerry Wayne Wilson with third-degree burglary and vandalizing a human burial ground.

Officers say on November 27th, the men went to the Bush River Memorial Gardens on Bush River Road near Irmo. Once inside, deputies say the men defaced inside the mausoleum and vandalized the lawn near the structure. Specifically, investigators say the men broke a stained glass window with the face of Jesus Christ, threw flower vases on the floor, bent a gold pole, cut chairs, and knocked over a granite bench.

Deputies found a dust jacket of the book "Killing Jesus" on the floor and an identification card for Farris.

Lexington County Sheriff James Metts says the motive for the crime remains under investigation.
