CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - A Berkeley County software company says it will add 1,200 jobs as it expands its Daniel Island headquarters.
Benefitfocus has invited Gov. Nikki Haley to a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday for its new building. The campus-like headquarters will have walking paths and connections between buildings. It's expected to open in 2015.
Benefitfocus was founded in a single office in Mount Pleasant in 2000. It provides software to help companies manage benefits for their workers.
The Post and Courier of Charleston reports (http://bit.ly/1jcEN1Y) that the state is offering Benefitfocus $30 million in incentives if the company hits all of its hiring and capital investment goals.
