Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The Greater Columbia Chamber of Commerce has begun its search for a new CEO and president.
The group announced Wednesday they're starting to accept applications for the position. The chamber is made up of 1,500 businesses and civic groups in Richland, Calhoun, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lexington and Newberry Counties.
The chamber has been without a permanent president since Ike McLeese passed away last October. McLeese had led the chamber for 19 years.
The chamber says the new CEO must be able to maintain a collaborative relationship between the chamber and business, government, and other local and national organizations to create a better business environment.
