Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The City of Columbia Water Works advises water customers of Lorick Avenue from Colonial Drive to Water Street in Richland county to boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.
Any residents near the affected area who have lost water and/or water pressure should also boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.
The advisory is the result of a six inch water main break that could possibly result in bacterial contamination of the water in this area.
Any ice made from water that has not been boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.
The City of Columbia Water Works is presently working to correct the problem. Contact the City of Columbia Customer Care Call Center with questions at 545-3300.
