Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The Ridge View High School JROTC Blazer Rangers Rifle team was awarded a grant of over $9,000 from the National Rifle Association Foundation.

The grant will allow the cadets to compete at the top levels of three position precision air rifle shooting competitions, a competition recognized as an NCAA sport.

The Blazer Rangers will not only be able to use the money to compete at a higher level, but hope to capture the attention of college recruiters for scholarships; which are only offered for those who compete in precision shooting competitions.

The RVHS Blazer Rangers' next competition is in February, when they compete in the All-Army Championship in Alabama.
