Customers in these areas should vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.

Any residents near the affected are who have lost water and/or water pressure are also advised to vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute prior to drinking or cooking.

Also, any ice made from water that was not boiled should not be used for drinking purposes.

The City of Columbia experienced an eight inch water main break, possibly resulting in bacterial contamination of the water in this area.

The City of Columbia says people in these areas should continue to boil their water until notified by the Water Works department.
