GREER, S.C. (AP) - Authorities say a Greenville County deputy shot and killed a man who pointed at a gun at him as he investigated a domestic violence complaint at a Greer home.
The sheriff's office says the deputy spoke to the person who called 911 when he arrived about 9:30 p.m. Saturday, then had a gun pointed at him as we walked inside.
Investigators say the deputy fired, hitting the man at least once. Authorities have not released the condition of the man who was shot.
The deputy was not hurt and has been placed on administrative leave as the State Law Enforcement Division investigates. His name has not been released.
