United Way, BB&T Offering Free Tax Help

Columbia, SC (WLTX) - On Tuesday, you have the chance to get your taxes done for free thanks to the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program.

The United Way and BB&T are offering free tax help to families with a household income of less than $50,000 if you live in Richland, Lexington, Fairfield and Newberry counties.

People can go to the Cecil A. Tillis Center in Columbia from 4-8 p.m. or on Wednesday, Transitions Homeless Shelter on Main Street in Columbia from 10-2 p.m.

Volunteers will prepare income taxes.

You must bring in a photo ID, Social Security card for all household members and your W-2. For more information on the VITA program, visit www.uway.org
