Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- The USC baseball team will start the 2014 season Saturday at noon against Bucknell but it has been anything but a typical week of preparation.

With the major storm dropping snow and ice on the entire Southeast, Columbia saw plenty of the wintry mess and that meant the grounds crew has been working overtime to get the playing surface ready.

Carolina Stadium's crew usually faces the typical challenges of rain, but the snow and ice has presented a much differenct opponent. But the field will be ready to go and head coach Chad Holbrook doesn't think the change in practice schedule will affect his guys that much.
