Provo, UT (Sports Network) - Taysom Hill and Michael Alisa each rushed for a pair of touchdowns, as BYU defeated Middle Tennessee, 37-10, on Friday at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Hill completed 14-of-19 passes for 177 yards with an interception and rushed for 165 yards and two scores on 18 carries. Alisa added 55 rushing yards on 16 totes for the Cougars (2-2), who were coming off a 20-13 loss to Utah.

Logan Kilgore threw for 82 yards, one touchdown and one interception on 13- of-31 throws for the Blue Raiders (3-2), who had won two straight games.

Cody Clark connected on a 42-yard field goal on the game's opening drive to give the Blue Raiders an early edge, but Adam Hine returned the ensuing kick 90 yards, setting up Hill's 12-yard TD rush to make it 7-3 BYU.

After exchanging three-and-outs, BYU forced the Blue Raiders to punt from their own 39, but JD Falsley fumbled the ball, giving Middle Tennessee a fresh set of downs at the Cougars' 24.

Jordan Parker picked up a first down with a 6-yard run on 4th-and-1 and three plays later, Kilgore hooked up with Marcus Henry on a 16-yard score to give the Blue Raiders a 10-7 lead late in the first frame.

Hill fumbled the ball inside the MTU 5 on BYU's next touch, but Parker was tackled in the end zone for a safety on the Blue Raiders' next play from scrimmage to bring the Cougars within 10-9 early in the second.

BYU again moved into the red zone on its next possession, but Alisa fumbled at the goal line and the Cougars again came away empty.

After forcing an MTU punt, Hill put the Cougars in front just three plays later, ripping off a 50-yard TD run to make it 16-10 in favor of BYU.

BYU padded its lead late in the frame, as Hill completed three straight passes on a 7-play, 67-yard trek that Alisa capped with a 2-yard TD surge to push the margin to 23-10 with under 30 seconds left in the half.

Alisa added a 1-yard TD plunge on the opening drive of the second half before Falsley atoned for his first-half fumble by returning a punt 71 yards for a touchdown to make it 37-10 late in the third quarter.

MTU moved inside the BYU 10 midway through the fourth, but Jeremiah Bryson was stuffed for no gain on 4th-and-1 from the BYU 7 to end the drive.

Algernon Brown then carried the ball seven straight times before a pair of kneel downs ran out the remainder of the clock.
