Columbia, SC (WLTX) --- For the first time under the guidance of Dawn Staley, South Carolina is 4-0 after their 64-43 win over Clemson Sunday at Colonial Life Arena.

Tiffany Mitchell and Ashley Bruner led the Gamecocks with 16 points each. The defense also did its job as they held Clemson without a field goal for the game's first 11 minutes. Clemson was also held to 23 percent shooting from the field.

Freshman guard Tiffany Davis was injured in the contest. Following the game, doctors confirmed that Davis will need season ending surgery.

The Gamecocks are on the road next week, traveling to the U.S. Virgin Islands Paradise Jam for three games over Thanksgiving weekend. South Carolina will take on Hampton, Florida Gulf Coast and DePaul on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
