USC Drops Another One-Run Decision To Florida

Gainesville, FL--- Eighth-ranked South Carolina opened up a 3-1 lead on Florida, but the Gators rallied for three runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to edge Carolina 4-3 at McKethan Stadium.

the eighth-inning comeback was highlighted by a two-out two-run single by Harrison Bader. 

The Gamecocks are 27-9 and 8-6 in the SEC with Florida 18-18 and 7-7 in league play. 

Connor Bright's solo home run in the top of the fourth inning gave Carolina a 2-1 lead.  Bright jumped on the first pitch he saw from Young for a homer to left-center, just clearing the wall.  It marked Bright's third home run of the season.  

Sumter's Jordan Montgomery went three innings and allowed one run, unearned, on three hits with a walk and two strikeouts for the Gamecocks on the mound. Westmoreland took the loss to drop to 4-1 on the season. He allowed three runs on four hits in five innings of work. He struck out two batters.

Florida starter Danny Young allowed two runs on eight hits in 4.1 innings with a walk and a strikeout.
