Columbia, SC (WLTX) - The University of South Carolina will have a tribute to legendary basketball coach Frank McGuire all this weekend.

McGuire coached the men's basketball team from 1964 to 1980, leading the team to an ACC Tournament title in 1971.

The festivities begin Friday afternoon, when Greene Street between Assembly and Gadsden Streets near the Colonia Life Arena will be topped as "McGuire Way."

The public can watch the event from the front of the arena, and is free and open to the public. Current USC Head Coach Frank Martin, Athletics Director Ray Tanner, and other Gamecock greats from the McGuire era will be there.

On Saturday, the first 5,000 fans who come to the Ole Miss/South Carolina men's game will receive a Frank McGuire placard. McGuire-era legends will be signing autographs from 3:15-3:50 p.m. on the concourse near the front entrance of the arena. There will also be a special pre-game presentation of all the former players.

At halftime, the USC football team will be honored for their recent season, including the Capital One Bowl win. There will be a poster giveaway for fans coming to the game.

Head Coach Steve Spurrier is set to address the crowd.

There also will be a limited number of Roost T-Shirts available for students, which will have a Frank McGuire and Frank Martin special theme. There will also be free food for students, double loyalty points and a face painting station.
