Columbia, SC (WLTX) - Richland Northeast's Jason Mohn wanted to play varsity baseball so bad as a freshman, he was willing to play left field. I wasn't familiar with the position, but I wanted to play," said Mohn. "He helped fill a void and did great," said head coach Thane Maness.
Mohn has been a star for the Cavs ever since. He's also an avid lover of baseball cards. "Every time we passed a store wen I was a kid I'd ask my dad if we could stop in to get a pack," the RNE senior said.
Although he doesn't plan to play ball at the next level, Mohn could pursue a career in public relations or newspaper. He's the editor of the schools yearbook and loves it. "I love sports and it was a great opportunity for me," he said.
Mohn is a great student. He sports a 4.0 GPA. He also helps out in the community and was an easy choice as News 19's Player of the week.
