Orangeburg, SC (WLTX) --- Orangeburg-Wilkinson won nine games this past season, the best showing for the Bruins in nearly 20 years. One of the reasons for O-W's success was the play of receiver Wally Tarte.
The speedster was not the biggest player on the field, but his ability to make plays in the passing game was the result of some hard work in the offseason.
In the classroom, Wally's 3.9 grade point average is the result of determination in the classroom to be a solid student. He is not afraid to admit that he has had help the last few years from family members and that tutoring has made Wally the complete package as far as a student-athlete is concerned.
Wally has received some attention from a couple of SEC and ACC schools. Whereever he goes, Wally will major in engineering.
