BENNETTSVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Hartsville police say they have arrested the girls soccer coach at Marlboro County High School in an Internet sting.
Police say 22-year-old Elliot Simmons thought he was talking to a 13-year-old girl who was going to have sex with him.
Authorities say Simmons was one of four people arrested after an officer posed as a teen on the MySpace Web site.
School district officials say Simmons was fired after his arrest. He wasn't employed with the Marlboro County School District, but was contracted as a coach.
The district says Simmons had been coaching for about two years and passed a State Law Enforcement Division background check when he was hired.
