Sao Paulo, Brazil (SportsNetwork.com) - Fifth seed Robin Haase and seventh seed Leonardo Mayer were losers in the first-round Monday at the Brasil Open tennis event.

Brazil's Joao Souza cruised in a straight-set win over Netherlander Haase 7-5, 6-4 at this clay court tournament.
